I used to have an Apple Watch Series 6, but I hated how often I had to recharge it. You get used to it of course and include the charging of your watch into your daily routines until it becomes second nature.

However, I still prefer not having to deal with these sorts of stuff, which is why I have switched to the legendary, highly accurate Casio F-91W wristwatch. With this new watch I can go 7 years without having to charge given I only use the backlight 1 second a day and keep the alarm not running longer than 20 seconds. This is a 340600% improvement over the Apple Watch Series 6! ( This is one hell of an improvement, I would love to see being advertised on an Apple Keynote ;) )

It’s extremely comfortable to wear. In fact you almost do not feel it at all. It’s just an extension of your own body to give yourself the super power of knowing the time with an accuracy of ±30 seconds a month, at normal temperature.

Besides looking up the time I have also used Apple Fitness a lot. It is really good, especially to compare running times, but thankfully the F-91W comes with a stopwatch. This comes with a little more manual work, but as I generally run the same route it is manageable. I already know the distance and can just write the time down on a spreadsheet.

For the daily steps I have also found a replacement: Personal Trainer: Walking for the Nintendo DSi. It is privacy respecting, can keep data for up to 2 weeks without having to sync anything and most importantly it is fun!

I still haven’t hacked it yet. There are a couple of great ones out there, most notably the Sensorwatch. The biggest problem of an unhacked one is that you cannot set timers. However with the hack installed I would have to charge it every 1-2 years
