I used to have an Apple Watch Series 6, but I hated how often I had to recharge it. You get used to it of course, and the fitness side of things are great it definitely kept me up on my toes. But I am not sure how sustainable it is to only be active because three funny (and really well animated) rings tell you to.
To not having to keep track of my watches battery i have switched to the legendary highly accurate Casio F-91W. With one watch I can go 7 years given you only use the backlight 1 second a day and keep the running on for 20 seconds. This is an 340600% improvement!
Its extremely comfortable to wear. In fact you almost do not feel it at all. It’s just an extension of your own body like you give yourself of knowing the superpower of telling the time ±30 seconds a month at normal temperature. It is super sleek looking as well.
I still haven’t hacked it yet. There are a couple of great ones out there, most notably the sensorwatch. But I am not sure if I even want it have more features than showing me the time. Also with the hack installed I have to charge it every 1-2 years
Apple Fitness is really good especially comparing running times, but thankfully the F-91W comes with a stopwatch can now use to keep track on times and compare them using a spreadsheet.
For the daily steps i have also found an replacement: Personal Trainer: Walking for the Nintendo DSi. It is privacy respecting, can keep data for up to 2 weeks without having to sync anything and most importantly fun! I wanna write more about this and my Nintendo DSi in an upcomming note! So stay tuned for that.
